Setting Up
As soon as your group has been given their wristbands and gotten searched for
illegals (tut tut) and have met up again on the other side, head for the camp sites and try to find the perfect spot to call ‘home’ for the weekend, early on only certain camp sites are open as they try to even out each ones capacity, don’t be miffed if the one you wanted is shut, just means there’s more space in another site for you. Here’s some things I look for in a camp spot (you don’t have to be as fussy)…
- Near a path – Makes getting to the facility’s easier.
- Flat as possible – Some areas are hilly and stony.
- Enough space – To chat and party.
- Not to far – From loo’s, food and entertainment, but..
- Not to near! – You don’t want loads of people trampling through your groups space to get to the toilets and whatnot.
As every group is different I’ll leave the setting up to you, just remember to look
around and get your bearings, so you don’t lose your tent when it gets dark.
TIP! If your in a large group, DON’T leave a large space in the middle of your tents,
late night arrivals will try to pitch camp there, Try a thin corridor with enough room for seats, BBQ’s and walking space, but not enough room for tents.
When camp is set-up, chat to your neighbours, help them set up and make friends,
over the festival you can party together and keep an eye out for each other stuff.
Camp is Sorted, Now What?
If your over 18 but look young (or even if you look old and just want to be sure), take your ID to a ‘proof of age’ wristband exchange point – they give you a wristband saying your over 18 so you don’t have to carry your Id everywhere.
Only these Id’s are accepted:
Passport, Photocard Driving License, Birth Certificate, Northern Ireland Electoral
Identity Card or a Proof Of Age Card with the PASS Scheme hologram.
NO photocopy’s allowed and they must be in date.
You can sort your lockers out after this, go to the window with your filled in booking sheet to get your locker number and lock, find your your locker and stash all the stuff You don’t want to lose, things like Id’s, phone, cash, credit cards & keys.
TIP! Only take the money you need for the day, and leave the rest in the locker.
Everything should be set up now, so have a wander around the village and camp site, check the opening times for the showers, get to know where everything is, try the entertainment tents, make friends and most importantly enjoy yourself
So I was rolling around on the DL Forums’ and found that the “Rock in Rio” Metallica setlist might be similar to the one they play at Download
Here is how they played;

A WWE event in Brazil came to a screeching halt Thursday evening … when local law enforcement stopped a live match and threatened to arrest Chris Jericho for desecrating the Brazilian flag.
It all went down during a match between Jericho and C.M. Punk — who was proudly waving the flag in the ring. Jericho took the flag away, crumpled it up and kicked the flag out of the ring … and that’s when police stepped in and put a stop to the event.
We’re told Jericho was informed that desecrating the national flag is a crime in Brazil … punishable by incarceration.
Cops gave Jericho an option — apologize to the arena … or go to jail. Chris chose the former … grabbing the mic and telling the crowd he immediately regretted his actions. Cops allowed the event to continue.
Sources connected to the WWE tell TMZ … the flag stunt was NOT planned or approved by WWE officials.
The WWE has just released an official statement saying, “Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE event in Sao Paulo on May 24. The WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident.”
